Guilty Verdicts in High-Profile Elbit Factory Raid Trial
Four British activists were convicted of criminal damage linked to a 2024 protest at an Elbit Systems factory. They are part of the banned group Palestine Action, which carried out the raid amid Israel-Hamas tensions. The convictions follow a previous trial, with two defendants cleared of all charges.
Four British pro-Palestinian activists were convicted on Tuesday for criminal damage during a 2024 raid on a factory operated by Israeli defence company Elbit. Among them, one defendant was found guilty of striking a police officer with a sledgehammer.
The six defendants were part of the banned group Palestine Action that led the assault on the Elbit Systems UK site in Bristol. The raid caused approximately £1 million in damages and occurred following 10 months of conflict between Israel and Hamas.
While four defendants were found guilty, two were acquitted. The group's proscription under terrorism law is under appeal, making the legal outcome significant for the organization's future status.
