Amid rising tensions, Ukraine has accused Russia of breaching a ceasefire initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy at midnight on Wednesday. Ukrainian authorities reported that one person was killed and three were wounded in the northern and eastern frontline zones.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated on X that Russia continued its attacks overnight and into the morning, targeting Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. Sybiha emphasized that Russia's actions indicate a rejection of peace, criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin for prioritizing military parades over diplomacy.
The ceasefire coincided with Russian celebrations of WWII victory and a planned military parade. However, drone and missile strikes perpetuated the violence, resulting in casualties in various regions, including Kharkiv and Sumy, as Ukraine grapples with ongoing military aggression.
