In a significant development, police in Manipur have apprehended a member of a banned outfit associated with a recent explosion near the Imphal airport. The arrest took place at the suspect's residence in Imphal East.

The May 3 blast has been claimed by the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party but is not linked to the subsequent arrest of a woman member of the group. She was detained in Imphal West, police clarified.

Additionally, authorities have detained a self-styled lieutenant of the United Kuki National Army from Churachandpur district. Arms and explosives have been seized during the interrogation, highlighting ongoing security concerns in the region.
