EU Targets Russia's Military Complex with New Sanctions

The EU is discussing a 21st package of sanctions focused on Russia's military industrial complex, according to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. This follows the recent approval of the 20th package and a substantial financial aid to Ukraine.

The European Union is intensifying its stance against Russia, aiming at the country's military industrial complex with a new round of sanctions. This marks the 21st package of punitive measures being deliberated among member states, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas reported on Monday.

Kallas noted that the sanctions intend to dismantle Russia's military capabilities, inviting EU member countries to propose strategies on how to address challenges like the so-called shadow fleet.

In the previous month, the EU implemented its 20th sanctions package against Russia and approved a significant financial aid package of 90 billion euros to support Ukraine, reflecting the bloc's ongoing commitment to countering Russian actions.
