The episode transpired during the night of May 11-12 when a group stopped a vehicle carrying eight oxen to a film shoot at Purani Haveli, suspecting ulterior motives.

The attackers, believing the cattle were destined for slaughter, assailed the vehicle's occupants and responding officers, causing injuries and damaging police property before being subdued and charged.
