Seventeenth Arrest Made in Odisha Constable Lynching Case
A man has been arrested in connection with the lynching of a Railway Police constable in Odisha, bringing the total arrests to 17. The constable was attacked by a mob after being accused of attempting to assault a woman following a vehicular collision.

Authorities in Odisha recently arrested another individual in connection with the brutal lynching of Soumya Ranjan Swain, a Railway Police constable. This arrest raises the total count to 17, according to the police. The incident involved a mob attack in Bhingarpur-Kaja, near Bhubaneswar, after allegations against Swain.
Swain was allegedly attacked by a mob after a woman claimed he tried to assault her following a motorcycle collision. The Odisha Police's Crime Branch apprehended Ashok Jena in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. The Crime Branch notes Jena's alleged involvement in the attack, while the investigation continues to identify others linked to this crime.
