Pinarayi Vijayan has publicly criticized the Congress for adopting what he describes as a 'narrow-minded' stance concerning the Enforcement Directorate's actions targeting opposing party leaders. Vijayan accused the party of raising objections only when its own members are implicated.
At a recent press conference, Vijayan addressed questions about ED searches conducted at properties linked to him, explaining that the central government, led by the BJP, has consistently leveraged the ED against its political adversaries. He highlighted that despite calls for unity, Congress continues its selective objections.
He referenced the actions against Arvind Kejriwal and the celebratory response from Congress upon such developments. He also mentioned support from leaders like M K Stalin and Arvind Kejriwal, who criticized ED's moves while disapproving of Congress's attitude.
The ED's operations linked to CMRL money laundering occurred at multiple locations, involving Vijayan's daughter's business dealings. Despite tensions, Vijayan noted efforts by CPI(M) to ensure peaceful protests against these searches.
