Amid heavy rainfall in West Bengal, seven individuals lost their lives as severe weather events, including house collapses, electrocution, and lightning, wreaked havoc across six districts.
The government has announced compensation of Rs 4 lakh for each affected family. The fatalities occurred in South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Paschim Medinipore, and Purulia.
