Russia's Defense Triumph: 339 Drones Intercepted
Russia's Defence Ministry reported the interception of 339 Ukrainian drones over a 13-hour period on Saturday. The interceptions occurred in various Russian regions, including Moscow, and over the Black Sea. Flight suspensions were announced in response to the drone activity, affecting several airports, including Sochi.
On Saturday, Russia's Defence Ministry declared a substantial success in its anti-aircraft operations, intercepting and destroying 339 Ukrainian drones over the span of 13 hours. The incident covered various Russian regions, prominently including Moscow.
The Ministry, through a Telegram post, detailed the incidents which occurred over 13 different regions, with activities extending to areas over the Black Sea. Significant interception efforts were noted from central Russian regions to those as far as Leningrad and Pskov in the northwest.
Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin provided timely updates on Telegram concerning the defensive actions against the drones. Throughout the day, an unofficial count confirmed that 14 drones were downed. Additionally, the Russian civil aviation authority intermittently suspended flights to several airports, notably issuing four suspension orders for flights to the Black Sea city of Sochi.
