US detains Russian citizen Dmitry Makarenko, moves him to Florida

The United States has detained Russian citizen Dmitry Makarenko on the Northern Mariana Islands and moved him to Florida, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday. Moscow is waiting for Washington to explain the reasons for his detention, the ministry said in a statement. Makarenko was detained on Dec. 29, it said.
