Zambia Airways to relaunch service in Q3 2019

During the first week of February this year, Zambia Airways announced the appointment of Bruk Endeshaw Abebe as the new Chief Executive Officer for the national airline. The decision was finalized on February 7 during Zambia Airway's inaugural board meeting.
Now Zambia Airways has announced that it would relaunch the flights in the third quarter of 2019, according to a statement given by Transport and Communications Minister Dr. Brian Mushimba. He opined that partners had a meeting in February to finalize among other things destination routes to Europe and the Middle East.
"We are committed to relaunching Zambia Airways to take advantage to the airport infrastructure we have made, in the radars, air navigation system, the best of its kind in the Southern African region," Dr. Mushimba said during a Parliamentary Committee session on Transport works in the week, as reported by Lusaka Times.
The airline is likely to transport 1.9 million passengers in the next decade to 2028. Zambia Airways is a joint venture between Ethiopian Airlines and the government of Zambia.
