DAVOS 2023: Finland hopes Turkish foreign minister's Washington trip will boost NATO membership talks

Finland's foreign minister said on Tuesday he hoped that the visit of Turkey's foreign minister to the United States this week would be a positive signal for his country and Sweden's bid to join NATO.
"The U.S. cannot solve all the problems but it would be a good sign if Turkey and the U.S. can agree on this military package they are planning," Pekka Haavisto told Reuters in an interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. "If there is green light on that package, hopefully it helps the Swedish and Finnish membership to NATO."
