Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar expressed his lack of faith in exit polls, confidently predicting that the Congress party will cross double digits in the imminent Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Shivakumar criticized the reliability of exit polls, claiming they often use insufficient sample sizes.
The Congress party, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress President Shivakumar, has been consistently stating that they expect to win 15-20 out of the 28 seats up for grabs in Karnataka. This optimistic forecast stands in stark contrast to early exit polls, which suggest a comfortable majority for the BJP-led NDA, including a sweep in Karnataka.
Shivakumar stressed that the INDIA bloc is prepared to take control, rebutting predictions of a dismal performance. The upcoming vote count on June 4 will ultimately determine the accuracy of these competing forecasts.
