Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has leveled serious accusations against China, alleging that the country is assisting Russia in efforts to derail an upcoming peace conference focused on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking at Asia's premier security conference, the Shangri-La defense forum in Singapore, Zelenskyy claimed that China is exerting pressure on various nations and their leaders to abstain from participating in the peace talks.
“Russia, utilizing Chinese influence and diplomats, is doing everything it can to disrupt the peace summit,” Zelenskyy declared, as per a simultaneous translation during his remarks. He expressed regret that a powerful and independent nation like China is acting as an instrument for Russian President Vladimir Putin. In his speech, Zelenskyy stressed the significance of the summit, outlining Ukraine's proposals on nuclear security, food security, prisoner exchanges, and the repatriation of Ukrainian children.
