All necessary arrangements have been made for the counting of votes today for the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat, where the BJP seeks to maintain its political dominance while the Congress-AAP alliance aims to halt their momentum.
Vote counting will commence at 8 a.m. at 26 locations amid tight, three-tier security, according to local officials. Gujarat voters witnessed a 60.13% turnout in the elections, which featured 250 candidates vying for 25 seats.
The BJP's preliminary success came in Surat when its candidate, Mukesh Dalal, secured a victory unopposed. The party is looking to replicate its 2014 and 2019 triumphs in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's and Home Minister Amit Shah's home state.
