In a critical move ahead of Tuesday's vote counting for the Lok Sabha polls, a high-level BJP delegation expressed fears of 'anarchy' incited by the Samajwadi Party (SP). These concerns were raised in a meeting with Uttar Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, Navdeep Rinwa.
Headed by key figures including Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and cabinet minister Swatantra Dev Singh, the delegation submitted a memorandum. They pinpointed SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's remarks as instigative, potentially agitating SP workers to disrupt the counting process.
Urging the Election Commission to take immediate action, Maurya stated, 'The SP aims to cause riots through media and social media. We demand strict measures for a peaceful and unbiased tally.' Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav, referencing Gandhi's 'do or die' call, advocated for a 'new freedom movement,' challenging the exit poll results favoring the BJP.
