TMC Dominates Early Vote Count in Bengal, BJP Trails

The TMC leads in 24 seats in the early rounds of counting for the Bengal Lok Sabha elections, with Abhishek Banerjee, Rachana Banerjee, and Asit Mal showing strong performances. BJP candidates are trailing in several key constituencies, while Congress and CPI(M) also have leading candidates.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) surged ahead of its rivals, leading in 24 seats as vote counting began for the Bengal Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission's website displayed TMC ahead in key constituencies.

Notably, TMC candidate and sitting MP Abhishek Banerjee leads in Diamond Harbour by 96,507 votes. TMC's Rachana Banerjee outpaced BJP's Locket Chatterjee in Hooghly, while Asit Mal holds Bolpur against BJP's Piya Saha with a margin of 6,010 votes.

In contrast, BJP shows mixed results. While BJP's Khagen Murmu leads in Malda Uttar by 11,119 votes, their candidates trail in areas like Cooch Behar and Bongaon. Congress and CPI(M) also mark significant leads in constituencies like Malda Dakshin and Murshidabad, respectively.
