Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday accepted the BJP's recent electoral setbacks, attributing them to the opposition's propaganda about changing the Constitution. He promised deep introspection and recovery in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Despite the loss, Fadnavis highlighted the strong voter support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'In elections, the people's mandate has to be accepted as it is. We will do deep introspection and will recover our loss in the next assembly election,' Fadnavis tweeted on X.
Out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti alliance has won six of the 10 seats declared so far, while leading in 17 other constituencies. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) bagged four seats and was leading in 27 others. The BJP emerged victorious in key constituencies but hoped for better outcomes in states like West Bengal.
'The number of seats the BJP has won is far more than the collective seats won by the INDI Alliance,' Fadnavis claimed, congratulating party workers and expressing confidence in Narendra Modi's third term as Prime Minister.
