TMC Triumphs in West Bengal with Increased Vote Share

Defying exit poll predictions, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) achieved a 45.77% vote share in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. This was a notable increase from 2019, securing 29 seats, up by seven. Meanwhile, the BJP's vote share dropped by over two percent, resulting in a loss of nearly six seats.

Refuting predictions made by a majority of exit polls, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) secured an impressive 45.77% vote share in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal, up from 43.7% in 2019.

This translated to a gain of seven seats, bringing their total to 29 out of 42 seats in the state.

The positive vote swing is a significant win for TMC, especially given the BJP's decline, which saw its vote share drop by over two percent, costing them nearly six seats compared to their previous tally of 18. The Left-Congress alliance also continued its downward trajectory, failing to make significant gains.
