In a significant political development, Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday extended his congratulations to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) comprehensive victory in the Lok Sabha elections across the state.
On Tuesday, the BJP secured all 29 of the state's Lok Sabha seats, marking a historic triumph. Chouhan visited the chief minister's official residence on Wednesday morning to celebrate the party's unprecedented success with Yadav. The leaders exchanged sweets to commemorate the occasion, according to an official statement.
Chouhan emerged victorious in the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency, defeating Congress opponent Pratap Bhanu Sharma by an overwhelming margin of 8,21,408 votes. Chouhan received a total of 11,16,460 votes, while Sharma garnered 2,95,052 votes. This victory marks Chouhan's sixth parliamentary win from Vidisha, a seat once held by political luminaries such as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
