In a tragic turn of events, 75-year-old Ashok Singh Rathore, the cousin of BJP MLA Mohan Singh Rathore, allegedly took his own life using a licensed revolver at his home in Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, police reported on Saturday.
Ashok Singh, who resided in Jawahar Colony, reportedly shot himself in the head. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, confirmed local officials.
Ashok, who is the father of Ashish Pratap Singh, a member of the state BJP executive committee, was known to be suffering from depression and was under treatment at the time. The Gwalior Superintendent of Police, Dharamveer Singh, stated that a forensic team had been summoned to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
