Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is poised to take the oath for a third consecutive term, matching an achievement only seen by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, will welcome leaders from seven neighboring countries, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu.
In the political backdrop, the Congress Working Committee has urged Rahul Gandhi to assume the role of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi assured he would make a decision on the matter "very soon." Meanwhile, the Congress has labeled Modi's electoral victory as a "moral, political, and personal" defeat, while describing their own performance as a morale booster.
Additionally, the National Testing Agency has formed a four-member panel to review the grace marks awarded to over 1,500 candidates in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam. Amid ongoing political developments and administrative measures, Modi's upcoming swearing-in stands out as a significant event.
