Kumaraswamy's Rebound: From Defeat to Cabinet Opportunity

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy credited the people of Karnataka for his opportunity to serve as a Minister under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Having expressed a desire to become the Agriculture Minister, Kumaraswamy sees this as a chance to restore his party’s relevance in Karnataka by working honestly and implementing Modi's vision.

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given him the opportunity to serve as a Minister in the newly formed Cabinet. Kumaraswamy attributed this chance to the people of Karnataka, whom he credited for their support.

Speaking in New Delhi, the former Chief Minister expressed his longstanding interest in the Agriculture portfolio but emphasized that he has made no specific demands. Kumaraswamy's alignment with the BJP has seen him regain political relevance in Karnataka, especially after winning the Mandya Lok Sabha seat by a significant margin.

'Under Narendra Modi's leadership, a decision has been made after discussions with BJP national President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. They have identified me and given me this opportunity. The entire credit goes to the people of Kannada Naadu,' Kumaraswamy said, further stressing his commitment to serve both the state and nation earnestly.
