Narendra Modi Sworn In for Unprecedented Third Term

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath of office for a third consecutive term at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath. Modi's premiership began in 2014, followed by re-election in 2019. He is the second ever to serve three consecutive terms after Jawaharlal Nehru.

In a historic ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for a third consecutive term on Sunday.

The oath of office was administered by President Droupadi Murmu. Modi, now 73, first ascended to the prime ministerial post in 2014, with a subsequent re-election in 2019.

With this new term, Modi becomes the second prime minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to serve three consecutive terms. Dignitaries from India's neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region were present to witness the landmark event.
