JP Nadda Appointed as Leader of Rajya Sabha House Amidst Political Shifts

JP Nadda, the BJP president and Union minister, has been appointed as the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha. He succeeds Piyush Goyal, who recently secured a seat in the Lok Sabha. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge remains the Leader of the Opposition. Nadda will serve alongside 11 other Union Council members in the Upper House.

BJP president and Union minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has been appointed as the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, according to official sources on Monday.

Nadda takes over from Union minister Piyush Goyal, who recently won the Lok Sabha election and took oath on Monday as a member of the Lower House of Parliament.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge continues to serve as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

In addition to Nadda, 11 other members of the Upper House of Parliament are part of the Union Council of Ministers.

Congratulating Nadda, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh encouraged him to consider the opposition's viewpoints in the House.

'Greetings to J P Nadda ji on his nomination as the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha. As Venkaiah Naidu garu might have said -- if the Leader of the House can accommodate, the Opposition can cooperate,' he posted on 'X'.
