Mumbai - In a significant reshuffle, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar announced the resignation of seven MLAs who have been elected as members of the 18th Lok Sabha. This mass resignation affects key players from Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP (SP).

Among the departing legislators are Praniti Shinde, Pratibha Dhanorkar, Balwant Wankhede, Varsha Gaikwad from Congress; Ravindra Waikar and Sandipan Bhumre from Shiv Sena; and Nilesh Lanke of NCP (SP). Additionally, Congress’ Raju Parve had earlier resigned to contest from Ramtek, albeit unsuccessfully.

The assembly session took a solemn turn as tributes were paid to the deceased members Meenakshi Patil, Pandurang Patil, Prataprao Bhosale, Gangadhar Gade, Trimbak Kamble, Dominic Gonsalves, and Dagdu Galande.
