The BJP has leveled serious allegations against the Congress government in Karnataka, accusing it of redirecting funds meant for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes towards fulfilling election promises made by Rahul Gandhi. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated at a press conference that this act is a violation of the Constitution.
Meghwal highlighted that over Rs 14,730 crore out of Rs 39,121 crore intended for SC and ST welfare has been repurposed to implement various election-time assurances. He claimed this exposes the double standards of Rahul Gandhi, who publicly advocates for constitutional values while allegedly undermining them in Karnataka.
The Minister also criticized the Congress for spreading misinformation during the recent Lok Sabha polls, suggesting that they failed to win genuine support despite securing a few seats. He further called for the Supreme Court's recent ruling on the rights of divorced Muslim women to be respected by all.
