K P Sharma Oli is on the verge of becoming Nepal's new Prime Minister. He held consultations with his alliance partner, Nepali Congress, to prepare the ministerial list for the new coalition government expected to be sworn in on Monday.
President Ram Chandra Paudel is poised to appoint Oli, 72, as the new Prime Minister of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML)-Nepali Congress (NC) coalition on Sunday.
A small cabinet is likely to be announced on Monday before the oath-taking ceremony, sources close to NC and UML disclosed. Oli's ascendancy follows incumbent Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda's' failure to win a trust vote in Parliament.
