President Joe Biden condemned the assassination attempt against Republican rival Donald Trump on Sunday and expressed gratitude for Trump's recovery. Speaking from the White House, Biden emphasized the need for unity and confirmed that an official review of the incident at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania had been ordered.
"There is no place in America for this kind of violence or any violence for that matter. An assassination attempt is contrary to everything we stand for... as a nation - everything," Biden stated.
He plans to address the American people on Sunday night to further discuss the need for unity in the face of such violence.
