Crypto and gun stocks saw a significant rally on Monday following an assassination attempt on Republican candidate Donald Trump. The incident, which occurred during a Pennsylvania rally, has heightened expectations of Trump's victory in the upcoming November election.
Trump's survival from a gunshot to the ear increased his lead in betting odds over President Joe Biden. The announcement of U.S. Senator J.D. Vance as his vice-presidential candidate further bolstered his chances. On PredictIt, Trump's election odds rose to 70 cents from 60 cents, while Biden's remained at 26 cents.
Shares in Trump's Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, surged by 31%, reflecting investor confidence. Other stocks, including Tesla, crypto, and gun manufacturers, also saw gains, anticipating favorable policies under a potential Trump administration.
