UP Deputy CM's Cryptic Post Sparks Political Turmoil

Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya's cryptic post on social media has stirred political circles. Following his meeting with BJP President JP Nadda and UP BJP Chief Bhupender Chaudhary, Maurya highlighted the importance of the organization over the government, emphasizing workers' pride.

A cryptic social media post by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has ignited political debate. On X, the office of the Deputy CM quoted Maurya saying, "The organization is bigger than the government, the pain of the workers is my pain. No one is bigger than the organization; the workers are the pride."

The post followed Maurya's meeting with BJP President JP Nadda in Delhi on Tuesday. Nadda also separately met with Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief Bhupender Chaudhary. Maurya, currently in his second term as Deputy CM, first held the role in 2017 and has remained despite losing the 2022 Assembly election, later being elected to the Legislative Council.

Earlier, during a BJP state working committee meeting on June 14 in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath noted overconfidence had hurt their expectations. The BJP had underperformed in recent elections. "We have to hoist the BJP flag in the state once again," Adityanath said, calling for heightened social media activity to counter any rumors.

Adityanath emphasized the BJP's consistent pressure on the opposition under PM Narendra Modi, achieving significant successes in previous elections. However, he admitted that vote percentage and overconfidence issues had dampened their performance. "Everyone must be active for upcoming by-elections and the 2027 assembly elections," he added.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at BJP, accusing it of prioritizing power over public interest. "In the heat of BJP's fight for power, governance in UP has taken a back seat," Yadav posted on X.
