Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday attacked the BJP, asserting that the politics of religious frenzy will not be tolerated in the country.
Gehlot's comments appear to stem from the BJP's recent loss in the Uttarakhand bypolls.
Gehlot stated, ''The BJP has consistently exploited religion for political gain, but misleading the public and promoting hatred in God's name is adharma, not religion.''
He further accused the BJP of igniting religious fervor over the past decade in a calculated manner but noted their defeat in religiously significant cities during recent elections. ''This is a clear public message: the politics of religious frenzy will not be accepted, and true religion will always triumph over adharma,'' he said.
