Trump Defies Secret Service, Vows to Continue Outdoor Rallies
Donald Trump, despite being wounded by a gunman, pledges to continue his outdoor rallies. The U.S. Secret Service recommended against it, but Trump insists on maintaining his campaign events, promising beefed-up security measures. The attack occurred in Western Pennsylvania, with Trump being struck by a bullet.
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, declared on Saturday that he would continue with outdoor rallies despite U.S. Secret Service recommendations to avoid them after an assassination attempt earlier this month. Trump's insistence on pressing forward with his campaign events was announced on his Truth Social platform, where he asserted, "I WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUTDOOR RALLIES, AND SECRET SERVICE HAS AGREED TO SUBSTANTIALLY STEP UP THEIR OPERATION." He emphasized that no one should impede free speech or gatherings.
The former president sustained an injury two weeks ago when a 20-year-old gunman opened fire during a campaign rally in Western Pennsylvania. The FBI confirmed on Friday that Trump was hit by a bullet on his right ear.
