In a bid to gain momentum ahead of local body elections, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state government would waive farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh by August. The announcement was made during a public meeting held in Kalwakurthy, Nagarkurnool, on Sunday.

CM Revanth Reddy confirmed that loans up to Rs 1 lakh have already been waived and loans up to Rs 1.50 lakh will be waived by July 31. The total waiver of Rs 2 lakh is expected to be completed by August. Reddy also took a jab at the opposition, stating, 'The agony of BRS leaders after losing power is visible. People will reject the opposition in panchayat polls.'

Highlighting additional developmental initiatives, Reddy disclosed that Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned to improve facilities in government schools in Madgula mandal. A comprehensive road network from village panchayats to mandal centers has been developed, along with the construction of four-lane roads between Kalwakurthy and Hyderabad. Moreover, a Skill University is set to open in Mucherla on August 1.

Lauding the contributions of the late Congress leader S. Jaipal Reddy, the Chief Minister reminisced about his unwavering principles and political legacy. He expressed regret that Congress did not announce Jaipal Reddy as the CM candidate in the 2014 assembly elections, which might have altered the party's fate. Reddy also announced the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Kalwakurthy.
