BRS Protest Erupts in Telangana Assembly Over CM's Remarks

The BRS protested in the Telangana Assembly, demanding an apology from CM Revanth Reddy for alleged insulting remarks against women. Members of the BRS held a protest in the Telangana Assembly on Thursday, demanding an apology from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over alleged insulting remarks against women members of the opposition party.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy countered the opposition, insisting that he has always respected women and sisters. Despite his assertions, the BRS MLAs, wearing black badges, began raising slogans as soon as the house commenced business.

Amid the uproar, the BRS legislators entered the well of the House and persistently disrupted proceedings, even ignoring repeated requests from Speaker G Prasad Kumar and the treasury benches to return to their seats. AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi urged the Speaker to either allow the BRS members to speak or to suspend them to restore order.

After BRS MLA Harish Rao made a supportive statement on the skill university bill, the party walked out and staged a dharna in front of the CM’s chambers. Marshals eventually evicted the BRS leaders, carrying K T Rama Rao and others out of the assembly. The opposition also called for statewide protests in response to the CM’s comments, while Revanth Reddy accused BRS of circulating objectionable content online about Minister Dansari Anasuya Seethakka.
