The Supreme Court expressed strong disapproval on Thursday regarding an alleged assault involving Bibhav Kumar, an aide of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and AAP MP Swati Maliwal. During the session, the bench of Justices Surya Kant, Dipankar Datta, and Ujjal Bhuyan postponed Kumar's bail plea hearing to next Wednesday.
The court was 'shocked' by the incident details recorded by the Delhi High Court. Despite Kumar's claim that the allegations were false and his custody unnecessary as the probe was over, the bench voiced concerns about the severity of the incident.
The apex court also issued a notice to the Delhi government. Justice Kant remarked on the nature of the assault, indicating a profound disturbance over how the incident reflected on the integrity of the official residence.
