On Monday, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of attempting to defame his party for vote bank politics ahead of the Assembly by-polls.

Yadav asserted that the electorate has lost hope in the BJP, predicting a 'safaya' (wipeout) in upcoming elections. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister denounced the BJP's undemocratic stance towards Muslims.

In a statement concerning the Ayodhya rape case, Yadav claimed the BJP's sole aim is to tarnish the image of socialists. He called for a DNA test of the accused, sparking controversy. Further criticizing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he mentioned the BJP's alleged flawed handling of security issues and incidents of injustice towards specific communities.
