The BJP has once again demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after a high court verdict on Monday supported his arrest by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.
During a press conference, BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva described the high court's and Supreme Court's recent rulings as significant victories for the people of Delhi. He questioned Kejriwal's moral authority to continue as chief minister, asserting that the administration is currently 'paralysed' and AAP ministers are not stepping up to take accountability.
Sachdeva emphasized that the high court's decision validates the BJP's claims that Kejriwal's government embezzled Delhi's resources through the excise policy. He insisted that Kejriwal should step down to allow for new leadership that can restore effective governance. Concurrently, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj noted that the court remarked Kejriwal's arrest was legally justified, denouncing his attempts to run the government from jail as leading to 'zero governance and complete policy paralysis.'
