The Monsoon Session of Parliament was unexpectedly adjourned sine die, sparking accusations from the Opposition. Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien accused the government of cutting the session short due to being out-debated on various issues, such as the Budget.

Originally set to conclude on August 12, the session was terminated ahead of schedule. O'Brien remarked, in a post on X, that this marks the 11th time the Modi government has reduced a session's duration prematurely.

The TMC leader also provided a chart detailing instances where Rajya Sabha sessions were prematurely adjourned since the Budget Session of 2020. He characterized the government's actions as a clear sign of weakness.
