In an interview with CBS's 'Face the Nation,' Vance labeled China as both a competitor and an adversary, stressing the necessity of economic and diplomatic measures to address the fentanyl crisis.
Vance criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her inaction on the issue, advocating for significant tariffs and penalties unless China takes the fentanyl problem seriously. He emphasized that while a trade war might ensue, the U.S. economy is strong enough to prevail in such a conflict.
