The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the imprisonment of their convener, Arvind Kejriwal, condemning it as part of the central government's 'dictatorship'.
In a workers’ meeting held in Chhatarpur, AAP Minister Imran Hussain and MLA Sahiram Pehalwan told party supporters that the BJP has unjustly imprisoned Kejriwal in connection with an excise policy case, despite there being no substantial evidence against him.
Hussain assured that the AAP would not capitulate to the pressures of the central government. He expressed confidence that the Delhi electorate would deliver a decisive response in the upcoming assembly elections, re-electing the AAP under Kejriwal’s leadership. The AAP has been organizing similar worker conferences across multiple constituencies, despite recent setbacks such as the defection of AAP MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar to the BJP.
