The political scenario in Jharkhand is heating up amidst speculations that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and former Chief Minister Champai Soren might join the BJP. State Congress Chief Keshav Mahto Kamlesh emphasized on Monday that Soren has always been respected within the alliance. 'He was made an MLA, a minister, and even the Chief Minister. There's no reason for him to feel disrespected,' Kamlesh stated.

Following a Congress Screening Committee meeting in Delhi, Kamlesh highlighted that discussions regarding seat distribution for the upcoming assembly polls have yet to commence. 'We haven't begun talks about seat distribution for the state elections. We'll meet with the Screening Committee chief and members again,' Kamlesh added.

Soren, on the other hand, has voiced feeling 'insulted' during his tenure and is keeping his options open until the upcoming elections. In a long post on X, he recounted various instances of perceived disrespect, including being suddenly asked to resign. He mentioned three potential paths: retiring from politics, forming a new organization, or finding a new ally to continue his journey.

BJP's state president Babulal Marandi acknowledged Soren’s grievances. 'His pain is evident in his post,' Marandi remarked. He refrained from commenting on the possibility of Soren joining the BJP, citing Soren's personal visit to Delhi.

State Chief Minister Hemant Soren indirectly criticized the BJP, alleging that the party is actively poaching MLAs and destabilizing the government. He accused them of spreading discord among tribal, Dalit, and backward communities and trying to 'loot' Jharkhand.

Minister Banna Gupta echoed these sentiments, stating that the INDIA alliance stands firm against BJP's tactics. 'Under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, we are preventing BJP from capturing power through deceptive means,' Gupta said. He reassured that any conspiracy to lure Champai Soren will not succeed.
