Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Monday sharply criticized the Congress, accusing the party of spreading confusion and lies about the BJP's stance on Dalit welfare. Speaking at a 'Dalit Samman Swabhiman Samaroh' in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Meghwal reaffirmed the Modi government's commitment to the upliftment of the Dalit community.
Meghwal pointed out that the Congress has been creating a fake narrative, particularly around the Supreme Court's recent remarks on the creamy layer among Scheduled Castes (SCs). He emphasized that these remarks were mere observations, not orders, and accused the Congress of misleading the public.
The minister also reassured that the BJP would continue to uphold and follow Ambedkar's Constitution, ensuring reservations for SCs and STs. He cited Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's inconsistent stance on caste issues as an example of the party's hypocrisy and confusion.
