Sahra Wagenknecht, leader of Germany's Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW), experienced an unsettling incident during a campaign rally in Thuringia, as a man attacked her with pink paint. Fortunately, Wagenknecht was able to step aside, avoiding the paint entirely.
Security quickly managed to detain the attacker while the crowd voiced their support by chanting 'Sahra, Sahra!' In response to the attack, Wagenknecht stated, 'It is noticeable that some people don't want us. That speaks for us. Don't let yourself be intimidated - we won't let ourselves be intimidated.'
The BSW leader went on to reaffirm her commitment to changing the country, underscoring her party's policies on military aid to Ukraine and immigration. Although the assailant remained silent about his motives, the event brought attention to the party's blend of social conservatism and left-wing economics, promising higher pensions, better schools, and revised immigration policies.
