Congress Blasts BJP Over Gandhi's US Remarks

The Congress has countered BJP's criticism of Rahul Gandhi's statements in the US, asserting that attacking the ruling party is not the same as criticizing India. The BJP accused Gandhi of creating a 'dangerous narrative' about Sikh issues abroad. Congress leaders defended Gandhi, asserting his mission to promote inclusivity.

The Congress has sharply rebuked the BJP following the ruling party’s criticism of Rahul Gandhi’s remarks during his visit to the United States, contending that opposing BJP policies does not equate to an affront to India.

Leading the charge, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri labeled Gandhi’s statements as 'sinister,' accusing the Congress leader of spreading falsehoods within the Sikh community while abroad. In addition, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accused Gandhi of disparaging India on foreign soil due to his electoral defeats.

In response, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal argued that the BJP is 'nervous and flailing' because Gandhi has exposed uncomfortable truths. He denounced the 'Modi bubble' for its politics of fear and division, emphasizing Gandhi’s efforts to foster inclusivity and respect within India’s diverse society.
