US President Joe Biden delivered a firm message to China during his address to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, stating that Washington will bolster its alliances and partnerships across the Indo-Pacific to manage the competition with Beijing responsibly.
In his last UN address as President, Biden emphasized the importance of upholding principles to prevent competition with China from escalating into conflict. He pointed out the US commitment to combating unfair economic practices, military coercion, and ensuring peace in the South China Sea and Taiwan Straits.
Biden's remarks followed the recent Quad Leaders' Summit with leaders from India, Australia, and Japan, reinforcing a unified stance for regional stability and cooperation. Additionally, Biden acknowledged resumed US-China collaboration on tackling synthetic narcotics.
