Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday criticized the BJP’s newly proposed women-centric scheme, calling it an 'election jumla' or empty rhetoric aimed at securing votes. His remarks came during a government function in Chatra district, where he emphasized his administration’s already established Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana (JMMSY).

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP's election co-incharge in Jharkhand, announced that the party would soon release a 150-point manifesto with a central focus on the 'Gogo Didi' scheme, aimed at benefiting women in the state. Sarma claimed that this new proposition would surpass the JMMSY in terms of effectiveness.

Meanwhile, Soren highlighted his government’s initiatives, unveiling 702 projects worth around Rs 841 crore, and wrote to the prime minister seeking the release of Jharkhand’s overdue funds. He assured that if the Centre provided the interest on these dues, the state could double its monthly assistance under JMMSY from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. Criticizing BJP for dynastic politics, Soren accused the party of attempting to divide communities along the lines of caste, creed, and religion.
