Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has sharply criticized the Congress party for causing disruptions during the winter session of Parliament. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Meghwal alleged that Congress had misrepresented a brief segment of Home Minister Amit Shah's speech during a crucial discussion marking 75 years of the Constitution.
Meghwal expressed concerns that issues stalling Parliamentary proceedings often originate from outside the country ahead of each session. He indicated that the Congress partners in the INDIA bloc had distanced themselves from the issue Congress was championing. Parties like the Samajwadi Party and TMC emphasized different concerns, such as violence in Sambhal and against minorities in Bangladesh, respectively.
The Union Minister highlighted a special discussion in Parliament on the Constitution, where allegations surfaced of Congress disrespecting Dr. BR Ambedkar. Meghwal noted historical grievances, including Ambedkar's unease with Congress, and suggested Congress used deceptive tactics to counter these claims. The session witnessed heightened tensions, exchanges of accusations, and even scuffles among MPs, with BJP members reportedly injured in the process.
