BJP Gears Up for Haryana Municipal Elections Amidst EVM Controversy
Haryana's BJP is confident ahead of municipal elections, emphasizing a proven track record of fulfilling promises. A meeting outlined election preparations, while the Congress raised concerns over EVMs and result delays, advocating for ballot paper use. Elections are set for March 2, 2025, with results on March 12, 2025.

Haryana Minister Mahipal Dhanda expressed confidence in the BJP's readiness for the upcoming municipal elections, underscoring their commitment as a cadre-based party to meet public expectations. Speaking on their track record, Dhanda emphasized that fulfilling promises would be pivotal for success in these significant elections.
During a BJP core meeting on February 5, pivotal decisions were made about the municipal elections, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini later addressing the media. Saini announced that the nomination process starts on February 11 and ends on February 17. He also mentioned forming a committee to select candidates for the elections.
In contrast, Haryana Congress president Udai Bhan raised issues regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), questioned the delay in result announcements, and demanded Scheduled Caste representation. Bhan advocated for using ballot papers, citing authenticity concerns surrounding EVMs, and questioned why results would be announced 10 days post-election.
