The BJP intensified its allegations against Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Friday, claiming his wife has links with the ISI, and accusing him of raising parliamentary questions on maritime security influenced by the Pakistan High Commission.
Gogoi, an MP from Assam's Jorhat, dismissed the BJP's claims as malicious and baseless, threatening legal action in response. He took to social media to express his outrage over what he called extreme defamation attempts by the BJP.
At a BJP press conference, national spokesperson Ajay Alok questioned Gogoi's marriage to Elizabeth Colburn, labeling her an ISI supporter. Alok called for Congress leadership to clarify their stance, given their alleged anti-national position. Allegations also surfaced about Gogoi's visits to the Pakistan High Commission. The BJP national spokesperson underscored accusations against Gogoi's activities post-marriage, highlighting various security queries he raised in the Lok Sabha, implying possible ulterior motives influenced by Pakistan.
